Meal prepping doesn't have to be bland or repetitive. These five nourishing bowls deliver an abundance of macro and micronutrients — and taste incredible.

5 Nutrient-Dense Bowls to Fuel Your Week

The humble bowl has become the ultimate vehicle for whole-food nutrition. When built thoughtfully, a single bowl can deliver a complete array of macronutrients, fibre, healthy fats, and an impressive spectrum of micronutrients.

The Anatomy of a Nourishing Bowl

Every great bowl has four layers:

  1. A base grain or leaf — quinoa, brown rice, wild rice, buckwheat, or dark leafy greens
  2. A protein — legumes, eggs, tempeh, fish, or free-range chicken
  3. Roasted or raw vegetables — at least two colours
  4. A nourishing dressing — tahini, miso, lemon-olive oil, or avocado

Bowl 1: The Golden Reset Bowl

Quinoa base, roasted butternut squash and cauliflower, chickpeas, spinach, with a turmeric-tahini drizzle. Anti-inflammatory and deeply satisfying.

Bowl 2: The Gut Repair Bowl

Brown rice, steamed broccoli and courgette, kimchi (for probiotics), soft-boiled egg, sesame seeds, and tamari-ginger dressing. This one is for your microbiome.

Bowl 3: The Omega-3 Power Bowl

Wild quinoa and kale, smoked salmon, cucumber, avocado, edamame, and a lemon-dill drizzle. Brain-boosting and deeply anti-inflammatory.

Bowl 4: The Iron and Energy Bowl

Spinach and lentil base, roasted beetroot, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, red onion, and a balsamic reduction. Designed for women at any stage of their cycle who need to replenish iron.

Bowl 5: The Hormone Balance Bowl

Sweet potato base, black beans, roasted peppers, flaxseed sprinkle, and a creamy avocado-lime dressing. Packed with the fibre and healthy fats that support hormonal health.

Prep Once, Eat Well All Week

On Sunday, roast two trays of vegetables, cook a large pot of grains, and prepare your dressings in small jars. Store each component separately in the fridge and mix and match throughout the week. You'll eat beautifully with minimal daily effort.
